One of the most expected tools by the industry is the promising Digital Publishing Platform from ADOBE. It compiles InDesign CS5 files into the new .ISSUE iPad format proposed by Adobe as an answer to Apple FLASH-FREE publishing requirements.

This tool was develop in conjunction with the WIRED mag team for their June issue, but it was at the same time revolutionary and disappointing because of the generated size of the app and also of some of the choices made. All pages are images —both horizontal and vertical versions— and this means that the text is not selectable and you can’t zoom on images. We hope that on release date these problems are fixed and we have a better output from these tools.
